About the event
College basketball players say the April 22 event at Schottenstein Center is more than fun and games. The top players in the country from HBCUs will be in Columbus to compete in the Classic For Columbus All-Star Game. Before taking the hardwood, All-Stars from both teams will participate in a pep rally to encourage high school students to choose education over gun violence and drugs. The All-Stars will talk with students, show off their basketball skills and serve as positive role models. Business and community leaders will join the All-Stars. The African American architect who designed Schottenstein Center (Curtis Moody) will be on hand to help motivate the students. The All-Stars plan to utilize the pep rally to share a message of hope.
